Our parish offers a variety of programs throughout the year including Bible Studies, Faith Studies, Retreats and RCIA. Listen for pulpit announcements and watch this website, the bulletin and the St. Odilia Messenger for information about upcoming events.
Our Lady of Guadalupe
St. Odilia has the privilege of being a parish for people of many cultures and histories, but one of our biggest groups is our Latino community.
Everyone is invited to worship with the Latino community at our 12:45 Mass, which is in Spanish. If you don't speak Spanish and want a bilingual worship aid, contact Lucy Arimond, Director of Adult Formation and Evangelization, firstname.lastname@example.org, 651-415-3331.
DID YOU KNOW that, in 1945, Pope Pius XII named Our Lady of Guadalupe as the “Patroness of the Americas”? So she is Blessed Mother for all of us, not just for people of Mexican or other Latino heritage.
Our Anglo-Latino collaborations are co-sponsored by the Hispanic Leadership Council and the Social Justice Council. For more information, contact Lucy Arimond.
Our Muslim-Christian Connection Continues
Ever wished we could do something to build bridges between Christians and Muslims?
We’ve made a good start – now let’s continue!
Watch this page for future events!
Missed our April 25 All About Islam program?
Want some reading on the topic?
About 80 St. Odilia parishioners, plus our Muslim guests from the Imam Husain Islamic Center, gathered here for Dr. Odeh Muhawesh’s very informative presentation. If you missed it, you might want to read his latest book, Islam & Christianity: Brothers at Odds – published in 2016 by the Imam Mahdi Association Marjaeya (a Shiite Muslim press). As a Muslim scholar who also teaches at the University of St. Thomas, Dr. Muhawesh presents a very clear picture of Shiite Muslim beliefs and practices, with comparisons to Christianity from the perspective of a Muslim who is committed to good interfaith dialog and relations. Watch this bulletin for future events, as we continue to build our relationship with our Muslim brothers and sisters. For further information, please contact Lucy Arimond, Director of Adult Formation and Evangelization, Arimond@stodilia.org, 651-415-3331.

Thursday Night Life in the Spirit Seminar
Seven Thursday evenings, starting September 26 2019 (skipping Oct 31) 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in Room 1302
St. Odilia is offering the Life in the Spirit Seminar! Join us if you want the Holy Spirit to be a guiding force in your life. The key event is an experience of God's love called the “Baptism in the Holy Spirit”. John the Baptist prophesied about Jesus: “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and Fire.” Jesus told his apostles “Stay in Jerusalem until you are baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Pope Francis in Rome, Italy, Jun 2, 2014. “Let yourselves be guided by the Holy Spirit, with that same freedom. I hope that you will share with all in the Church the grace of baptism in the Holy Spirit…"
We will meet for seven Thursday evenings 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Room 1303, starting September 26. Each 90 minute session includes prayer, songs of praise, a video presentation and talk by a parishioner about their faith journey, followed by small group discussion.
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit renews the faith we received in our baptism and in our confirmation. If you’ve been looking for a way to deepen your prayer life or wondering how you might experience a deeper understanding of the love of Jesus, please consider joining us.
REGISTER HERE! The registration fee of $15.00 is due the first meeting, September 26. For more information contact Leo Boucher, email@example.com phone 651-484-2386.

St. Odilia has a great tradition of parishioner-led book clubs, meeting here at the church, in parishioners’ homes, or at nearby libraries or restaurants. Some of the groups have been meeting for decades – they’ve been a treasured community connection. Our longtime “Spirituality Book Club” now meets on the third Thursday of every month in our conference room in the Faith Formation's office area in the church-school main building, and is inviting more parishioners to join them. At their September meeting, they will choose their book list for the coming year. For further information, contact Mary Jo Rourke, 651-483-1228, firstname.lastname@example.org.

Meet fellow parishioners!
Share how the Word of God comes alive in your life!
Our Tuesday morning Bible Study program, which starts for the fall on Sept 17, is presently full. We keep a waiting list for this group, and invite new members as vacancies occur. We also could form a new group if the waiting list gets large enough. We’re still using the very popular “Sunday by Sunday” bible study guides to each week’s Sunday Mass readings, which are published by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Small group, informal atmosphere, friendly, prayerful, relaxed. Take some time out for the Word of God, enrich your understanding of the readings you’ll hear each Sunday at Mass, and explore how to live the meaning of the scriptures in your daily life and in our world.
For information or to register, contact our study group convener, Mary Ann Ryan, email@example.com, or Lucy Arimond, Director of Adult Formation and Evangelization, 651-415-3331, Arimond@stodilia.org.
