- Summer 2019 Youth Programs -Open to 6-8th graders (High Schoolers help lead)
We’re launching a brand new camp this summer for middle schoolers, combining some of the best elements from Summer Stretch and VBS After Hours with a lot new ideas that have our teens very excited! .It’s structured like VBS After Hours (same days & times), and features a daily off-campus fun site like Summer Stretch used to (like Grand Slam, a beach day, Whirley Ball, or Bunker Beach). But Unleashed also mixes in some strong faith elements (via some great talks & group activities), a week-long color wars competition between the groups, and some whacky water or messy games on-site too!
The color wars and onsite games are what have our high schoolers most pumped up - each day we’ll do 1 or 2 of our favorite water or ‘messy’ games that we’ve done over the years, like Slip-n-Slide Kickball, food games, and “ultimate fruit” (ultimate Frisbee, but with apples, bananas, pineapple, etc.). The high schoolers are helping us pick a “best of” schedule featuring the games that 6-8th graders will absolutely love and remember for years to come! And it’s all part of creating strong Christian fellowship to grow together!
Date/Time: June 17-20 (Monday-Thursday), Noon - 5:30 PM

Summer Festival is not just an insanely fun summer camp (though we can't overstate how fun it is) - the camp also features some of the best Christian speakers and music in the country! We stay on Gustavus' college campus (enjoying their award-winning food), and every day includes awesome worship, great morning and evening speakers, some of the best small group discussions you'll find anywhere, and a TON of crazy camp games (like huge water fights, a 4-story water slide, campus-wide night games, hilarious improv and skits, and the spectacular "Messy Fight"). Seriously, this will be the best week of your year!

Starting in June we’ll be offering a big summer blast a few times a month, for all our 6-8th graders to connect with each other, make friends, & keep their faith going through the long hot months. Each night will feature a large-group game outside for all the teens (don’t worry, we’ll have indoor backups for rain) - something really active that we know goes over well with this age group! Then we’ll head inside for dinner and social time, a joy-filled and uplifting talk, and more time to connect over conversation and prayer. It’s drop-in friendly, cheap, and fun!

All 6-12th graders can be leaders for the huge summer extravaganza, Vacation Bible School! Every summer, hundreds of children come to learn about their faith and have fun. We need a lot of middle and high schoolers to help lead them - so consider applying today to be on the team! It's a great leadership opportunity, gets you some time outside, and you can make a difference in a child's life!
Date/Time: July 22-26, 9:00 AM - 12:15 PM + awesome opportunities for leaders in the afternoon (see VBS After Hours above)!
Location: St. Odilia Courtyard
To Register: Register here as a youth leader. Leaders can print their references here, or use the online reference form. This is one of our best retreats every year, with tons of teens calling it their favorite weekend of the summer! Our Leader Retreat is for all high schoolers (incoming 9th-12th) who are either leading already or are interested in doing it in the future (as part of Retreat Team, Spark Team, or VBS After Hours).
While on retreat, we have a series of great talks and discussions on Christian leadership, plenty of time for reflection and prayer, small groups, worship music, and some more unique "new" or cool types of prayer too. There is plenty to learn, plenty of ways to deepen your faith, and plenty of great role models to meet and work with. We are also very intentional that this be a "hands on" retreat - every skill we work on is something the teens will get to practice firsthand. We make learning and becoming a great peer minister a really fun process!
Speaking of fun... these retreats are also where we do a lot of our most popular games and team-builders, including some games that are too cool (or too crazy) to do anywhere else. Previous years included our first zombie survival game, the popular "Secrets and Spies" competition, and a few renditions of our "Food Games." It's our teens' favorite weekend for good reason!
Date/Time: August 10-11 (Saturday 1:00 PM - Sunday 5:00 PM)
Location: Camp Onomia in Onamia, MN (we provide transportation to/from St. Odilia)
To Register: Register online now!For Summer Encounter events, we start with a super fun, active game that gets kids laughing, competing, and working together. Some of our favorites each year include Slip-n-Slide Kickball, night games, a sword-fighting tournament and the annual "Water Wars!" After a good hour-and-a-half running around and making crazy memories, we move into the more traditional part of an Encounter Night schedule. That means authentic fellowship and sharing in small groups, a short story about Christ, and time in prayer or worship.
Day/Time: Sundays, 6:00-9:00 PM
Program Dates: June 2, June 9, June 23, July 14, July 21, July 28, Aug. 4, Aug. 18, Aug. 25
