A Message From Our Principal
Thank you for visiting our website. We have a lot to be proud of and our website is just one small way to show all of the wonderful things we do for children each and every day.
As a school, we believe that it is our mission to help all of our students develop the talents that God has given them so that they grow to be wise, confident, kind, and caring individuals. We recognize that every child is a gift from God, and we work to nurture each child's unique personality and talents to make our community a great place to be.
Our philosophy of education is teaching the whole child. St.Odilia is committed to academic excellence but recognizes that this is only one part of a complete education. At St.Odilia, we have a balance of academic excellence, faith formation, character development, and service; all of which, empower students to be successful in today’s world. As a staff, we work in collaboration with parents to ensure that students obtain a solid foundation in all of these areas. As the school’s principal, I believe that when parents and our faculty work together, children win every time. This is why I work closely with parents and faculty while being highly accessible and visible to the children.
The vision for our school is simple: to provide a safe, loving, nurturing, learning environment for children to achieve high academic standards through our advanced curriculum and state-of-the-art technology; to help our children grow spiritually through the teachings of the gospel; to teach the value of service through our outreach programs; and to work to develop character full of integrity. We instill the courage to do what is right versus what is popular.
This is my seventh year as principal at St. Odilia. I have seventeen years of educational experience in Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis: five as a middle school teacher and eleven as a principal. I have served as an Adjunct Instructor at St. Mary's University of Minnesota in their graduate-level Educational Leadership Program and currently as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of St. Thomas. Additionally, I have served as President of the Archdiocesan Catholic School Principal’s Association and as the Assistant Chair of the Archdiocese Advisory Council of the Superintendent, Treasurer within the as a Board of Director for the Minnesota Non-Public School Accrediting Association, and many other ad hoc committees as well.
I have a B.A. from St. John’s University, an M.A. in Educational Administration from St. Mary's University of Minnesota, an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of St. Thomas, and a K-12 Principal’s License. As a product of Catholic education since preschool, I have a first-hand understanding of the benefits of Catholic schools, and I encourage you to schedule a visit and come and see for yourself why St. Odilia is such a wonderful place to be!
