What does the program look like?

The St. Odilia Confirmation program is a two year program starting in 7th grade and ending the spring of 8th grade.  Since this is the first year we are moving to a two year program, those currently in 8th grade will only be required one year of preparation instead of two.  Programming runs weekly for the candidates on Wednesday nights from late September to early May.  The Confirmation preparation process also partners with parents by holding larger events 5 times in the year on a Sunday evenings for 8th grade students.   At the bottom of the page there is a full list of dates for classes and Family Faith nights.

    Is there an online option?

The online option for grades 7 and 8 includes a weekly video summarizing the large group in person gatherings, as welll video content for the curriculum used in small group sessions.  These videos can be watched at any time during the week and a google form with corresponding questions will be sent to students to help them process the information and keep them on track.  All of the Sunday large group sessions will be recorded for students and parents to view from home.  St. Odilia staff are here to support your child in this online learning process and you can always contact Gizella Miko for questions or concerns.

What is used for the Curriculum?

The St. Odilia Confirmation program integrates the Chosen curriuculum of Ascension Press, a weekly Bible study, and Lifeteen's Edge program.  Classes combine both large group presentations, small group discussion and occasional guest speakers to give a diversity of learning experiences to best prepare each candidate. Through Chosen, Bible studies, and Edge the St. Odilia Confirmation program gives a comprehensive intellectual and spiritual preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  We strive to deepen each candidate's relationship with God through the Study of Scripture, Tradition, and the Teachings of the Church that they may become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ and His Church.
